1. Don’t be afraid to ask your colleagues
If you are told to do something but it’s unclear to you, don’t be afraid to ask for clarification or help from colleagues. For example, if your manager asks you to conduct a report and you’re unclear on how it will help them, your team, or your client, you can always ask them to clarify the reasoning behind it. Knowing the importance of the work that you do gives it meaning and will help you to do better work. 2. Be appreciative of what you have and your current situation

Let’s imagine your boss gave you a task that you thought was a bit mundane or uninteresting. Initially, it’s a task that you normally dread taking care of. You think that it will take up a lot of time and it makes you feel negatively towards the task even more. Now, change your perspective on the task. Think of all of the job seekers that would do anything to have the job role that you have. Imagine how that task when it’s completed will help the company deliver delight to your customers. For the task mentioned earlier, think of the goals laid out by your boss or client. Read your company’s mission statement. You can start to find meaning in your work when you reflect and connect the dots of why you and your company are doing what you’re doing.
When you can understand this, you’ll be able to better communicate with your coworkers and clients. This is because companies and clients don’t want someone investing time and money in work that has no purpose. It’s a waste of resources and time to do so. There should always be a reason on why you are doing the type of work that you’re doing. Figure out its purpose if you don’t know it.
